I am writing to say that it’s brilliant, and if the rest of your manuscript is written with such detail and
energy, I can’t wait to get my hands on it. And I hope that that will be in person.

Mark Sinclair

I would love you to share my story in the manuscript

Dr Hannah Macleod

What can I say? I’m utterly humbled on one level, and absolutely thrilled to bits on another that
you’ve decided to put together what I’ve no doubt will be a fascinating and totally compelling
collection of short stories. And thank you for including my story in amongst such a legendary group
of people. I feel very proud to have you as a friend and am genuinely chuffed to bits that you
pressed on during lockdown and made this happen. Absolutely amazing!

Chris Hunter

I’m honored and humbled by your wonderful email and especially by reading your manuscript which
included some of my thoughts along with those of others which you found to be worthwhile. I
would love to see the entire treatise when it might be available. I hope you and your family are well
and think of you and my wonderful time there often. Please stay in touch and let me know how
your project progresses. You have had an incredible career and have encountered some amazing
people. It’s very gratifying to be included among.

Dr Lee Rice

I have very fond memories of the trip

Love what you have done pulling all of these experiences together – that is an eclectic group and
amazed to be in there! This email really got me thinking and I dug out my diary from the start of the
pandemic and had a read. Absolutely crazy stuff, we really just didn’t have a clue what was coming
or what was the right thing to do. I remember when you phoned and asked if the country would
really shut down and if the event would be able to go ahead. I was in the prep room beside our
theatre waiting for a case to start when you called and it was the first time I really appreciated what
a huge effect it was going to have on people outside the hospital. Up until then I had been
concentrating on the hospital and health challenges. If you remember I was feeling a bit jaded at the
time, but the rollercoaster of COVID was the accelerant that our innovation set up needed and we
have absolutely been on fire since then – there are now 30 people working in our unit and growing.

Thank you for sending the piece, you are very kind, it does reflect what I think was a very happy and enjoyable time for both of us. It was a great challenge for us all to be involved with – 5 years to be in a position to beat Toulouse in the European final. In the end it wasn’t quite Toulouse, and we did it in 4 years!!!!!

Sir Ian McGeechan

Great Harvey, thrilled things are going so well. Martin Elliot remains a legend!!

Matthew Syed

It’s rather fabulous and humbling to be included in such a cool project and alongside such a stellar line-up.

Jason Bradbury

I am sure you have a wealth of information to compile and share, so it ought to make for a fascinating book and I would of course love to read the manuscript when it is ready. Hope you are not finding the writing too taxing, as books are never easy!

Mark Gallagher
